2 Tips for Picking Your Wedding Vendors in Los Angeles

When it comes to planning a wedding, there is no shortage of decision making. Most of the decisions you make will be around the vendors who will be instrumental in bringing your vision to life. It all starts with the venue and then you have to start picking the remaining vendors - suggestion: secure your caterer and photographer next - and depending on your wedding vision, this could be up to 20 different vendors!

So how exactly do you go about selecting that company who will be part of your wedding team? Glad you asked! Here are a couple tips:

Ask Around

Ask everyone you know. Start with recently married and then move on to other couples. If the suggestions from these people just aren’t working out for you, move on to people who aren’t married but who have used really good vendors for their respective events. Ask them if they have any suggestions for photographers, videographers, florist, caterers, DJs, transportation companies, party rental companies, invitation designing companies -shall I go on? The list of vendor options is extensive! Hopefully people you know will be able to guide you in the right direction as you start to put together your list. But don’t stop there.

Do Your OWN Research

Once you’ve put together that list from people’s recommendations - hit up Google and start doing your own research. A company who may have been really good years ago, may no longer have that high service rating they once did. Check out reviews (on ALL possible sites), if they are a pretty large company, check them out on the Better Business Bureau. Don’t leave it up to your network to give you the full scope of the quality of the company’s service - this is your wedding so it’s important to do your due diligence.

There are so many horror stories about couples who selected vendors who completely failed to deliver on their promises and I don’t want that to happen to you or your loved one. A little extra time spent beforehand can reduce the headache and emotional pain afterwards.
